The Pit is a fast paced FPS with a retro style. The objective is to get the highest score possible, and get to the top of the leaderboards.

I challenged myself to make an FPS game within a week and this is what I came up with, although I do plan on updating the game.

The score you get is based on how long you last, and how many kills you get. You get 1 point per second you're alive, and 1 point for each kill.

Enemies

Eyeball

  • 1 Hit Kill
  • Slow Speed
  • Gets close to you

Skull

  • 2 Hit Kill
  • Fast Speed
  • Stays far from you until attacking

Shruiken

  • 2 Hit Kill
  • Fast Speed
  • Stays far from you until attacking
  • Hard to see
  • Rarer than others

Upcoming Features

  • Effects when enemies die.
  • More types of enemies.
  • Boss battle(s).
  • More types of shooting.

Credits

All Music found on the Newgrounds Audio Portal.

Note: Make sure you always use the exact same username each time you play it, otherwise the game might say your highscore is 0 (even though it's not 0. Also, this doesn't affect leaderboards, the score won't be reset on there).

Any feedback on the game would be great, you can contact me through the comments on this page, or email me at AnsityGames.co.uk. Please contact me if you find any bugs, no matter how big or small :)

Also yes, this is heavily inspired by the game 'Devil Daggers'. Full credit to Sorath (Devil Daggers developers) for the idea. This was a challenge to make an FPS in a week, not necessarily an 'original' FPS.

Update v1.1

  • Added Score Counter whilst playing the game.
  • Added separate downloads for each OS, 30mb files rather than a 100mb file for files you don't need.
  • Small optimizations.
